Early Career in Social Work

After graduating from Western Michigan University with a dual major in Behavioral Psychology and Sociology, I began my career as a Foster Care Case Manager. The work was emotionally demanding and, at times, dangerous, but it shaped the foundation of who I am professionally. I entered the field with a strong sense of responsibility and a belief that meaningful change was possible when individuals were willing to engage in the process.
Early on, I made a commitment to go above and beyond for those who were prepared to put in the work to improve their circumstances. This experience required resilience, empathy, and the ability to navigate complex, high‑stakes situations—skills that continue to influence how I approach my work today.

Transition into Higher Education Recruiting

Seeking a new professional direction, I transitioned into recruiting and counseling within higher education, where I held roles including Enrollment Counselor, Senior Career Consultant, and Manager of Recruitment. In these positions, I recruited and guided hundreds of individuals toward educational pathways designed to support their long‑term career goals.
I worked extensively to tailor highly technical curricula to align with individual aspirations, often conducting in‑depth research to ensure accurate and practical guidance. I also regularly assisted students with resume development and career preparation.
This approach led me to become a trusted resource among colleagues, reinforcing my belief that the role of a counselor carries both responsibility and lasting impact.

Corporate Talent Acquisition

My career path then led me into corporate recruiting as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, a role I was recruited into by a former colleague. I was responsible for filling a high volume of highly specialized positions, including Mechanical Product Engineers,
across multiple business units.
When traditional job postings failed to produce qualified candidates, I adopted proactive sourcing strategies to identify and engage talent directly. This experience confirmed my ability to succeed in challenging recruiting environments and solidified my passion for the search itself—the strategy, persistence, and precision required to match highly specific skill sets with the right opportunities.

Automotive Account Management Experience

Prior to founding Insight Sourcing, LLC, I briefly served as an Account Manager within the automotive industry. While the role itself was not the right long‑term fit, it proved to be an invaluable learning experience. Working closely with Directors, Program Managers, Project Managers, Engineers, Quality Managers, and Account Managers gave me an insider’s perspective on complex engineering‑driven organizations.
I regularly participated in cross‑functional and international conference calls with teams in Mexico and Japan, further expanding my understanding of global collaboration and technical communication. This experience enhanced my ability to speak the language of engineering and manufacturing, providing insight that extends well beyond the typical recruiting perspective.
